As part of the Data and Analytics Team at Wave Money, I lead the Data Engineering function, managing a team of Data Engineers and Data Scientists.Our work spans both on-premises and cloud-based platforms:On-prem: We use SQL Server running on a Windows-based platform, with SSIS as our primary ETL tool.Cloud: Our cloud environment is built on AWS, leveraging tools like Redshift, Glue, and other AWS services to build and optimize our data pipelines.This role involves driving the team's strategic initiatives, ensuring the seamless integration of data across platforms, and maintaining high-performance data engineering operations.

As part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team at Wave Money, I played a key role in managing the financial services platform running on Oracle's Exadata across primary and standby sites.Key achievements:Migrated Mobile Financial Services Databases from a legacy VM-based environment to the Exadata X8-2 platform, including setting up the standby environment at our remote data center.Led efforts for upgrading, patching, and performance tuning of the Exadata system.Set up and managed the Active Data Guard environment to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.Managed multiple instances of PostgreSQL 12 and 15 databases, which hosted Wave Money's KYC platform, and configured read replicas environments.Took responsibility for ensuring uptime and end-to-end performance tuning of PostgreSQL environments.Additionally, I supported all database-related initiatives and provided guidance to the development team for their environments. I also mentored team members, sharing best practices and fostering technical growth.

The RAC environments are hosted on Physical Blade Servers running the OEL 6.3 OS.Supporting 11gR2 databases for BOSS Billing System from Huawei. The Billing system is hosted on IBM’s Power 6 servers.Managing multiple 11g RAC databases over 20 TB CDR databases used by Business Intelligence running on IBMs Power 8 machines.Providing support for the Mobile Banking Databases for the AsiaHawala Financial services.Managing Aircom's Optima database for network performance monitoring. I was part of the Database Infrastructure Services team at Telenor Pakistan, where I supported a variety of critical systems:Financial Services (Easy Paisa): Managed a stack of databases hosted on Exadata X2-2 (FULL RACK), which included over a dozen Oracle 11gR2 Real Application Cluster environments.Oracle 11g R2 Streams: Managed the Streams environment for financial services (Easy Paisa).Oracle 11g R2 Data Guard: Implemented and administered Data Guard in 2-node RAC environments with ASM-based storage on Linux x86-64 blade servers.Optima and Asset Databases: Oversaw 2-node 10g R2 RAC environments hosted on Sun Solaris.Geneva Postpaid Billing Database: Handled administration and performance tuning for this environment, which was hosted on HP-UX ia64.AZURE Interconnect Billing Database: Managed the Oracle 10gR2 database on Linux.BSS Environments Support: Provided extensive support for various BSS environments, including replication, cloning, and migrations.VAS Stack Upgrade: Conducted the upgrade from Oracle 10g to Oracle 11g across the VAS stack.Oracle EM Grid Control: Worked with both Oracle EM Grid Control 10g and 11g.Collaboration on BR Products: Coordinated with the SA team on backup and recovery products such as Data Protector and Networker.New Projects: Contributed to projects like the Lead Management System, Secondary Sales Automation, and PTA Reporting.Teradata Support: Provided support for Teradata-based environments utilized by Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse operations (Teradata 12 and Netvault Backup Solution 8.5.3).
