Dr. Safi Ullah is a Climate Change Researcher at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. He holds a PhD in Climate Change/Atmospheric Science from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST), China, and an MPhil and MSc in Disaster Risk Management from the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar, Pakistan.Before joining KAUST, Dr. Safi completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Climate Change/Atmospheric Science at the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Fudan University, China. During this fellowship, he was awarded the prestigious Shanghai Super Postdoctoral Fellowship, one of the most esteemed fellowships in China. He was also awarded a research fund under the Research Funds for International Young Scientists (RFIS-I) program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Dr. Safi also served as a Lecturer at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar, where he taught various disaster risk management courses to undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional diploma students. Moreover, he worked with multiple international humanitarian organizations in disaster risk reduction, emergency response management, women's protection, and peace-building.Dr. Safi has extensive research experience, focusing on climate change impact and risk assessment, climate change modeling, extreme weather events, land-atmosphere-ocean interactions, water resources management, disaster risk management, multi-hazard risk assessment, and disaster resilience modeling.
