Sagar is a Portfolio Manager at Anson Funds, a multi-strategy hedge fund, where he leads the activism strategy. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Five9 (FIVN), an Anson Funds portfolio company.Previously, Sagar was the Senior Analyst (Head of TMT) at Legion Partners, a small/mid-cap activist investment firm based in Los Angeles. In addition, Sagar served on the board of Momentive Global (MNTV), the maker of SurveyMonkey, from 2022-23 through the sale of the company to private equity. Prior to Legion, Sagar was an investment professional at Balyasny Asset Management (long/short equities) and KKR (private debt / special situations). He was also a founding member of Finchwood Capital, a TMT long/short equities investment firm, where he served as a Senior Analyst. Prior to direct investing, Sagar was an investment banker specializing in the technology sector at UBS and Blackstone. And during college, Sagar co-founded a consumer Internet company, Unit 501, which amassed 150mm users over 100 social application properties.Sagar earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, where he graduated Beta Alpha Psi (former President and Pledge Director; awarded Best Member, Officer, and Alum).
