Special Education Secretary
CurrentIn my role as a Special Education Secretary for Unit 4 Schools, I handle:-phone and email correspondence-maintain a confidential record system with educational records protected by FERPA-review and process Special Education documents such as Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 Plans, as well as other Education-related documents like cumulative files and ISBE documentation-Utilize ISBE's SIS and I-Star systems for the identification of students, entering enrollment/registration information, and documenting IEP and other Special Education records (such as IEPs and Non Public Private Facility Alternate Placements/Therapeutic Day School tuition and room and board)-utilize eSchool, Powerschool, eFinancePlus, Lexia, iTames, AimsWebPlus, ISBE's SIS, ISBE's I-Star, Adobe Pro, the Microsoft Office Suite, the Google Suite, for Data Entry-handle Work Order Requests, Purchase Order Requests-ISBE Non Public Facility Contracts for students in Alternative Placements or Therapeutic Day Schools-Handle documentation related to Physical Restraints and Time Outs to be in compliance with ISBE and Illinois legislature regarding Physical Restraints and Time Outs-Perform basic technological trouble-shooting duties such as printer/copier maintenance-Utilize postal machine to weigh post by post type and mail-Enter absences into AESOP/Frontline Absence Management-Ensure data entry accuracy for Special Education related documentation in state systems in order to be in compliance with important ISBE dates -- such as the December 1st Child Count in ISBE's I-Star system-Locate, arrange, and schedule employee training for Professional Development-schedule meetings-create and implement processes and procedures in order to create the first ever Operations Manual for Unit 4 Special Education Secretary-Assorted other tasks such as creation of meeting materials, greeting department guests, and department organization.
