Shubham Aggarwal is a professional in their field. Colleagues describe them as "I was Shubham's direct supervisor and primary mentor during his time at IGN, and I can happily say that he did an excellent job. Shubham challenged himself to learn many concepts and languages including REST APIs, non-relational databases, CMSs, JavaScript, Scala, and Ruby. Each project that he picked up, he excelled in. For some concrete examples, Shubham worked on updating a proxy GraphQL based endpoint that could grab and convert JSON data from our REST APIs. On top of that, he also introduced several improvements and bug-fixes for our backend systems. He exceeded our expectations in his ability to learn and execute. Shubham also showed great teamwork and communication skills when he developed his own idea and both gathered and lead a team consisting of another engineer and a designer to help bring his idea to life. The idea was to create an in-browser notification system for www.ign.com that would allow users to set notifications for themselves to check back for content. This involved working on our front-end system, but also learning how to integrate our site with a Chrome browser plugin. Shubham can adapt to new languages and techniques, communicate effectively, and shows creativity to boot.
