As the co-organiser of TEDx events for two years, I was involved with the preparation and execution of the full day event. enabled me to use my creativity in designing and executing the website and all branding materials. It was a great way to bring inspiring speakers and the local business community together and I felt privileged to have had such an integral role in its success. _Developed the strategy and vision with the event team._Created the website and associated visuals around the key theme. _Planned and dressed the stage backdrop._Designed all marketing materials. _Created the associated visuals to fit the theme of the year. _Co-organised and executed the logistics for the day._Sat on the judging panel for applications to find the right speakers for the event.

The NFRN is one of Europe’s largest retail trade associations representing over 15000 independent retailers across the UK and Ireland, providing practical help, support, cost saving benefits and services. They are the official government referral body for the sector and are a powerful voice for the independent retailer.After finding out what the NFRN stands for, I saw the value of there being an organisation that represented the views and issues of small businesses. I liked the idea of helping to ensure that all businesses have a voice and can make their mark in the industry and so took on one of the management roles within my local branch.Responsibilities:_Managed the meeting process liaising with local independent retailers._Collaborated with other branches nationally and attended the AGM._Voted into the role showing the trust the group had in my organisation and planning skills. Retained in the position for four years.
