Sahil & Sarthak are designers working in the field of Lifestyle Products, Spatial Design, Jewellery and Graphic Design, since 2001, both in India and Italy. They are designers with diverse design backgrounds, who have mastered the art of synchronizing their individual creative expressions to create projects and objects that are bold and reflective, provocative yet poetic.Sahil's grasp on spatial design allows him to interpret how exactly do people and objects correspond with their environment. He has a passion to work with ecological materials and sustainable techniques. Sarthak's experience in the jewellery and lifestyle products, equips him with an eye for details and the understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques. From 2006 to 2008, Sahil and Sarthak successfully completed their Master of Design in “Product Service System Design”, from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. They took part in many challenging projects under the guidance of famous designers and architects such as Claudio Silvestrin, Ezio Manzini, Clino Trini Castelli and Markus Benesch.During their stay in Italy, they were selected to take part in the prestigious furniture design Project for 6 months, called Project I-Nova, organized by Scoula Politecnica di Design Milan and the Italian furniture company, Poltrona Frau Group (Cassina, Cappellini, Alias and Poltrona Frau). Subsequently, both Sahil and Sarthak worked for the avant-garde furniture company Cappellini Design SpA, under the mentorship of veteran Architect/Designer Giulio Cappellini, where they concentrated their efforts in designing & developing furniture, retail, interior and visual communication.Realizing the scope of design in Indian market, and their passion to explore further Indian material and techniques for the international market, Sahil and Sarthak opened their studio in India in 2009 where they design projects and objects that imbibe the true sense of design, ecology, ethics and a contemporary culture.

From graphic and product design, painting and metal crafting, Sahil & Sarthak are specialists in designing and fabricating bespoke furniture, lights and products that are Indian in spirit yet global in appeal. The duo behind the eponymous venture have studied furniture and spatial design in Milan, Italy, which is clearly reflected in their final products; be it an eclectic tabletop accessory, a grand installation on a building's facade or a colourful hand-woven chair made out of fabric trimmings. As a team, they believe in celebrating traditional Indian crafts by way of using local elements, and interpreting, re-contextualizing and handcrafting them to create contemporary products. They keep experimenting with a mix of mediums such as metal, glass, textiles and pottery, celebrating the relationship behind deign and culture. In many of their creations, the concepts they present is a dialogue between mythology and the present way of life, seen through the prism of design and art. Their work has been showcased at various international design platforms such as the V&A Museum London, the Triennale Museum Milan and more recently at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg. They have won various accolades for their work has been published in various international journals and design think tanks.

Interior Design

Project I-NOVA, Co-created by Poltrona Frau Group and Suola Politecnica di Design on Italian Furniture design, Milan. The project was to propose a look for the interiors of Poltrona Frau Group showroom, to redesign and develop a new Graphic language for Cappellini showroom in Milan, and to design a showroom for Cappellini in India. This project required a detailed study of the Poltrona Frau Production system, quality standards, materials and techniques, to successfully reinterpret it for the Indian market.An artwork selected by Cappellini, for its green design communication in Milan Design Week - Salone del Mobile.
