This scientific outreach project aimed to communicate the scientific basis of nutritional interventions for maintaining good health to people in rural Uttar Pradesh, raising awareness about the topic. The project involved creating an infographic-rich magazine, compiled through a collaboration between undergraduates from Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence and high school students from Vidyagyan School.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Shaon ChakrabartiPerformed fluorescence in situ hybridization-based experiments on mouse embryonic fibroblasts (NIH3T3) to check for dynamics in the expression of circadian clock genes. The data is used to draw inferences about cell lineage and the establishment of rhythmic oscillations in the expression of clock genes.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Reeta Singh Fruit-flies (Drosophila melanogaster) were used as a model organism to investigate the role of an activated Toll-signalling pathway in preventing tumour formation. Tumour models were generated by crossing flies and driving expression of the tumour-inducing mutation in the 'vestigial' domain using the GAL4/UAS system in progeny. The larvae were cultured and examined for phenotypic changes - mainly in their wing imaginal discs at the third instar larval stage - during diseased conditions and compared with wild-type controls and rescue models with an upregulated Toll signalling pathway.
