I've been building software products for the last 12 years, working in both enterprise and startups. I have worked with teams of fellow developers, as well as been a leader of teams of developers.My latest work, for the past 5 years, has been SproutClass, a SaaS platform for educators to launch and run their online academy (think Shopify, but for education). As the Founder and Principal Engineer, I led the development of an end-to-end system for educators, through a team of developers and designers, which involved several technical feats all of which were built in house:- Multi-tenant SaaS product, that allows unlimited white-labelled as well as unbranded academies, with a single code base (built in 2020).- Live classrooms with group video for students and educators. Upto 200 live participants per classroom, with unlimited classrooms with failure isolation and self-healing (built in 2020-21)- Real time multiplayer whiteboards for collaboration and teaching (built in 2020)- Server side recording of live classes with all interactions, with possibility of custom layouts and styling of recordings (built in 2021)- Automated performance testing suite to simulate thousands of live classes and performance tuning (built in 2021)- Cross platform mobile app for educators and students with full feature parity, again both white label and unbranded experiences with a single codebase (built in 2022)- GenAI powered capabilities like Course Outline generation, chapter wise question generation and automatic assessments (built in 2022)In my earlier life(2010-12), I was a researcher in ML and NLP, with work published in conferences like ACL, CIKM and NeurIPS. Currently I'm exploring Agentic AI systems for collaborative task solving through AI Agents, for any domain. To that end, I have built an LLM powered framework called Tathastu, which I'll be launching this month. My expertise is in building technology products to solve business problems, which translates to empowering and guiding teams, aligning company vision with product development, allocating resources efficiently, coordinating objectives across the organization, as well as taking up challenges in individual capacity wherever it makes sense to do so.I have useful insights into the field of technology, which I both developed as well as successfully put to the test of time, throughout my career. In an accelerating and rapidly evolving landscape, I can help an organization with directionality and technical vision.
