Sri Saibal Sarkar possesses a variety experience of about 32 years in electrical and computer Science Engineering. He started his career with Tata Iron & Steel Company in electrical system maintenance. Subsequently, he did his post graduation and reverted back to his career in Information Technology arena. Then he spent about a year in Wipro as Customer Support Executive in Systems. He has gone through several software development projects in many languages right from assembly to C, IT system maintenance and management both in hardware, Communication and software, conceptualization to implementation of many IT projects. He has executed and consulted many large IT projects in National Informatics Centre (NIC) for the Department of Supplies and Disposal, Finance, Legislative Assembly, Culture, Home, Judiciary and Shipping and many more. It may be worthwhile to note that he has independently handled comprehensive computerization of Haldia Dock Complex (part of Shipping) that includes, planning, development, implementation, management and maintenance of the entire Information and communication technology system for the organization.In the recent past, he was the Senior Technical Director of NIC and managing the State Data Centre (SDC) as the Project Manager of National e-Governance Plan in West Bengal besides executing his supplementary charge as the Additional State Informatics Officer for coordinating with the District units of NIC. It will not be out of place to mention that teaching and training in NIC and SDC are part of the regular activities. Furthermore, he has scholastic interest and is involved in research work in his personal capacity to a certain extent.During last two years he has published two papers on IT security and Forensics in eGovernance in IEEE International Conference while previously, he made a paper published jointly on system architecture. Recently, one paper on Security Ontology has been accepted by Inderscience journal.
