Said is senior vice president of Corporate and Business Development and member of senior leadership team of Irdeto. Irdeto, a wholly owned subsidiary of a multinational media group Naspers (JSE: NPN), is a leading provider of media technology and digital asset protection and security lifecycle services. Irdeto enables new forms of distribution of digital assets for broadcast, broadband and mobile media entertainment supporting the world’s most popular app-stores, operators and consumer devices. Said is responsible for worldwide business strategy, market development, corporate partnerships, investments, mergers and acquisitions at Irdeto. Prior to this role, Said was responsible for Cloakware product group and before that he was in charge of the company’s product offerings in digital TV markets. Before joining Irdeto in December 2007, Said was Senior VP of Xyratex Storage Networks in UK, responsible for products, business development and strategy with a global team in the States, Europe and Asia. Prior to that, he was Executive VP and CTO of Advanced Digital Information Corporation in Seattle, leading a worldwide product, technology and strategy team. Said founded Pathlight Technology Inc. in 1994, a start up in New York pioneering storage networking and led the company through a successful M&A in 2000. He had various responsibilities at IBM Corporation prior to Pathlight and co-founded an industry wide association, SNIA.org, which promotes best practices, education, training, standardization and collaboration across Storage and Networking markets.He completed his Executive MBA program (TRIUM) from three universities; NYU Stern Business School, London School of Economics and Political Science and HEC School of Management, Paris.
