Duties and Responsibilities: Setting out the works in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors. Checking materials and work in progress for compliance with the specified requirements. Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations. Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise. Observance of safety requirements. Liaising with company purchasing department to ensure that purchase orders adequately define the specified requirements. Liaising with the project planning engineer regarding construction programs. Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress. Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws. Providing data in respect of variation orders and site instructions Preparing record drawings, technical reports, site diary. Measurement and valuation (in collaboration with the project quantity surveyor where appropriate)
