I received a promotion to Senior Underwriter in May of 2017 as an FHA DE certified Senior Underwriter. In this role I learned how to analyze income from various different sources such as W2 Income, Self-employment, retirement, IHSS, etc. I also learned to be more self-sufficient and exercise my decision making skills to approve or deny loans based on my analysis of risk and possible fraud.

I worked as a Junior Underwriter with experience in FNMA/FHMLC guidelines then transitioned into underwriting FHA loans and eventually got promoted to Senior Underwriter and received my FHA DE Certification.

I worked as a loan processor for over two years helping borrowers through the loan process by gathering the right documents to clear conditions set by the underwriter. In this role I learned a lot about communicating effectively with a wide range of personalities and honed my customer service skills. Loan Originator was my first position at Quicken Loans, this role was the foundation for my career in the mortgage industry and helped me hone my skills in building relationships. I also learned a lot about guidelines in a number of different products such as VA, FHA, FNMA and FHMLC.Being a loan originator at Quicken Loans also requires team work skills by communicating and working with other departments to get the loan from origination to closing which helped me gain insight about the loan process.
