As a Solutions engineer at Instabase, our team is responsible for building Instabase applications as part of the our marketplace and wide range of customers. We're highly technical and we work along cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of data driven innovations aimed towards attainment of business goals. From high-level system design, to scoping use cases, to data engineering, our work looks different every day.To enumerate few of the use-cases in the document understanding domain I have contributed to, are• Resume extractor, involving image processing, NLP entity generation and categorising different sections smartly regardless of layouts• Chart extraction, involves extracting data points from graphs or bar/pie charts in pdfs or images. Which are further used for visualisation by other apps downstream• Paystub Extractor (US payslips) for multiple vendors without any fixed layouts to them• Invoices (Financial Spreading App) for extracting data from complex unstructured documents using DL models under the hood• And various other Ad hoc appsApart from this, I am involved with actively mentoring new Instabasers joining our tribe and conducting a technical knowledge sharing series for our entire team.We are currently working with few of the major banks and Fortune500 companies in the US and expanding aggressively in India. Broadly put, my contribution in NortonLifeLock (Broadcom Inc.) included developing multiple fault tolerant distributed systems, to increasing team productivity involving - Big Data (Hadoop, Yarn) - Automating and developing parallel web hunting/crawling - Storage of malicious content in the threat landscape (mostly using python).Delving deeper into the different projects I have contributed to are• Developed a fast, memory-efficient file attributes extractor for windows executable(PE) files, using C and C++, with my team. This extractor is used by millions of our consumer customers, when they scan their PC.• Developed a scalable swarm of VMs crawling, reproducing, classifying & reporting nearly 500,000 attacks/day in real time using Python and Hadoop. Increased team productivity by 1.5x• Built a Python (OpenCV) and Selenium based Tech Support Scam (TSS) categorizer, evaluating over 1000 sites/minute on a daily basis. Additionally, we built a TSS ML classifier, with 93% efficacy.• Data harvesting and analysis for millions of MAC bundles and OSX executable, for training the MAC classifier.Additionally, I actively mentored three interns in our team, with their projects and introducing them to our AV Stack.Access to the huge Symantec telemetry from millions of customers, that can be used to innovate and come up with new heuristics, is definitely a big plus that helped me achieve my goals.

Learning RFC protocols for 4G Volte connections in detail and coming up with new features for smart calling using 4G Volte.Understanding the software stacks(Samsung's) used when placing a call in 4G LTE and the flow of the encrypted call over to the different servers and authentications necessary for the same.Devising an IMS based solution for my project, to transmit custom data in that network packet, Samsung phones use for 4G LTE calls).

This is an online packers and movers application. Work involved in- Developing and Hosting a Web Service (in CodeIgniter, JavaScript)- Android Application (using GoogleMaps APIs, multithreading classes) for low-latency real time location and distance tracking (much like Ola, Uber, etc.)- Data Crawling, Scripting for company specific data using PythonCustomers could book a slot and can live track our packers and movers using the app, and the invoice would be generated accordingly. The work was challenging and adaptive for me giving me a first hand full stack engineer experience. There were a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities, keeping me challenged, busy and learning all the time I was there.
