Sailing Instructor with 50+ years experience. I provide training at my company SailCork (which I founded in 1974) in Dinghy Sailing, Cruiser Sailing, Powerboating and Navigation from beginner to instructor level.I have been training instructors for over 30 years. We also train professionals in industry - boat drivers etc. As a trainer I was involved in creating the new National Dinghy Scheme in 1991 and I introduced the National Powerboat Scheme to Ireland a year later. I was the first Yachtmaster Instructor to be trained to international standards in 1993. Having sailed abroad in many amazing locations since 1974 I wanted to share these experiences so SailCork has been running courses abroad since the mid 1990's. We have run courses in the UK, France, Spain, Morocco, Croatia, Canary Islands, Antigua, British Virgin Islands and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.I have been involved in broadcasting on radio and TV since the mid 1980's - a great way to let people know about my passion for the sea and sailing and my love of the Cork coastline!My goal is to keep improving our product and reach wider audiences. We now teach navigation online. We run a special course for navigation using the iPad and our "Explore and Discover" series looks at popular cruising areas in depth - for example "Cork Coast - Youghal to Mizen", "Baltimore and the Islands" etc.We continue to improve our products and lead the way in the education of watersports in Ireland.
