During my T-level course, I have had to do a minimum of 315h within the industry. For these hours, I was hand picked by Balfour Beatty Vinci who worked closely with Tarmac to allow me to gain extensive knowledge in the HS2 project which is the largest infrastructure project that has ever been undertaken in the UK. It allowed me to gain knowledge about the civil engineering side of the project whilst still allowing me to gain knowledge about the concrete that is used to build the project. I feel that this is beneficial for me as I now have knowledge about different aspects of the whole project which is a fundamental skill to have within the civil engineering industry. I also have experience in doing construction projects abroad as I was able to travel to Sierra Leone in Africa to do charity work for a project called 3580. When I was there, I did many construction projects such as building a playground for the school children, rebuilding the roof of a mosque, and repainting and repairing an existing school. We also purchased 1500kg of rice and provided bags of rice to the locals in need.
