As the Head of SHEWISE Domestic Abuse Services, I lead and manage the strategic direction and operational aspects of our domestic abuse programs. My role involves developing and implementing innovative interventions to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care for survivors. I collaborate with key stakeholders, including local authorities and advocacy groups, to enhance our service delivery and drive systemic change. Additionally, I oversee a dedicated team, manage programme evaluations, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation. I am committed to advocating for marginalised communities, especially South Asian & Middle Eastern communities, to help shape the future of domestic abuse strategies to better support those in need.

As the VAWG Advice & Information Service Coordinator, I oversee the delivery of comprehensive advice and outreach services for survivors of violence against women and girls, ensuring high standards and consistency. I provide direct support, including guidance on legal, financial, and social issues, while developing and evaluating outreach programmes. I collaborate with local authorities, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders, and organised training for staff and partners. My role also involves managing a case load, maintaining accurate records, ensuring policy compliance, preparing reports on service impact, and overseeing resource management and budgeting.

Delivered high-quality refuge accommodation services for South Asian women and children escaping domestic abuse, adhering to the operational policies and procedures of the refuge and housing associations, as well as meeting established quality marks and standards. Maintained a thorough understanding of the dynamics and impact of domestic violence, providing comprehensive support to survivors by addressing their risks and needs in areas such as health, education, immigration, welfare benefits, and homelessness.Managed complex casework involving issues such as child abuse, mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and crisis intervention for both adults and children. Ensured the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. Kept abreast of current housing, criminal, civil, and welfare rights legislation related to domestic violence, with a particular focus on the needs of women facing additional barriers, including BAME and disabled women, and understanding the impact of discrimination. Fluent in multiple South Asian languages, enhancing communication and support for diverse clients.

Monitored and assessed the effectiveness of the school and its curriculum by collaborating closely with senior leadership and providing support to all teachers to ensure high-quality education. Managed key administrative aspects of the school, including strategy development, policy implementation, budgeting, and staffing. Participated in the recruitment and interviewing process for new teachers.Chaired the Children, Family, and Community Committee, and served as the link for safeguarding and SENCO governance. Attended quarterly AGMs and monthly meetings with relevant stakeholders. Reported directly to the Chair of Governors. Conducted annual surveys with students and parents, providing detailed analyses and actionable recommendations for improvement to the school team and governors.

Established the Domestic Abuse Children's Services at Asha under counselling supervision, ensuring comprehensive and effective support for children fleeing trauma within a domestic abuse refuge setting. Collaborated on the development and implementation of organisational and local authority safeguarding policies, creating a detailed and accurate record-keeping system with a strong emphasis on maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of both children and mothers.Delivered structured weekly one-on-one therapeutic play sessions for children residing in the refuge, tailored to support their emotional and psychological well-being. Regularly attended case supervision meetings to ensure alignment with best practices and ongoing professional development. Managed and maintained play equipment, conducted routine health and safety inspections, and coordinated the planning of family trips and summer activities. Also monitored any safeguarding concerns and raised them to relevant statuary authorities.

Led initiatives to support young adults with learning and behavioural challenges, overseeing the coordination and execution of the Retail NVQ program. Facilitated NVQ-related workshops for young adults at CJT and established work placements, providing ongoing assessment of participants' Retail NVQ skills within professional environments. Developed and maintained a comprehensive records management system, delivering detailed and accurate reports to senior management.

Completed a Graduate Training Program leading to the role of Assistant Commercial Manager, with extensive training in all aspects of Retail Management. Played an active role in the recruitment of new graduates for M&S, including participation in graduate fairs and the interview process. Managed various shop floor departments across multiple M&S outlets in London, overseeing sales, merchandising, displays, and staff management. Responsible for delivering daily performance reports to the line manager and providing weekly updates to senior store managers.
