I am a passionate research scientist with an interest in translational science and improving community health. I was awarded first class honours and a Flinders University medal for my achievements during my Bachelor of Medical Science and Honours degree specialising in molecular biology and biochemistry. While completing my PhD focused on colorectal cancer cell biology and epigenetics, I developed an extensive molecular biology skill set. During my postdoc at the Centre for Cancer Biology I further developed my interest in drug development and treatment of human disease. My research involved the identification of lead compounds for the treatment of fibrotic disease and their mechanisms of action. I have recently transitioned into clinical trials as I am interested in observing the direct impact drug development research has on people in our community and their health. I am dedicated to developing my skill set in this area, with the hope of having a meaningful impact on those around me.
