About Sai Vittal Battula

I am a digital integrated circuits engineer, primarily focusing on SoCs, ASICs, and FPGAs. I graduated with a master's degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in integrated circuits and systems from Columbia University. Before that, I did my bachelor's in electrical and electronics engineering from Mahindra University. During both of these academic programs, my emphasis was on digital circuits and computer architecture. I am proficient in SystemVerilog, low-level programming, standard ARM interconnect protocols (AXI, AHB, APB), and external interfacing using UART, USB, SPI, and I2C. Furthermore, I have a staunch research background in the field of nano-electronics, especially in analyzing the electronic and magnetic properties of nanomaterials which resulted in five peer-reviewed journal publications. My academic experiences can be categorized into two spectrums: physical design, and design & verification. My physical design experiences include utilizing the Cadence ecosystem to design schematics & layouts, synthesize, place & route, and perform equivalence checking with Python and TCL scripting. Now, coming to my frontend design side of things, I am familiar with formal verification, SystemVerilog Assertions, writing test benches and test sequences, RTL design, and simulating with event-driven simulators like ModelSim. My professional experiences include three internships. In one of my internships, I worked on network programming for VPN applications, and in the rest, I worked on developing various Android and web applications. Moreover, I also worked on atomeOS (a power-efficient operating system built on top of the Linux kernel) for two years. I released it under my non-profit named Swattle which releases easy-to-use, efficient, and free software products. Additionally, I have co-founded MergeURL – a service that merges up to five URLs to give a single shareable link. The product had a user base of 450,000 users before it was closed in August 2022.In a nutshell, I am an innovative engineer and internet entrepreneur striving to make the world a more unified and connected place—a creative thinker and writer, along with being adept in hardware and software development.
