Following the acquisition of Rexam Plc by Ball Corporation in 2016, my employment transferred, and I was awarded this new role. I played a key part in the ongoing success of the business with accountability for controlling packaging capacity planning for the whole European division. My remit included strategic 3-year planning, annual budget management, quarterly financial forecasts, KPI management and leadership/development of a Logistics Supply Chain Analyst. - Saved the business €0.75m pa (9%) on freight of empty packaging between European locations, having identified and pursued efficiency opportunities. - Won senior management consensus for various packaging requirements business cases presented at monthly Capital Committee meetings. - Secured optimum terms from strategic plastic packaging suppliers and service providers following expert commercial negotiation. - Improved packaging KPIs, by improving reporting and data collation, leading to identification and recharge of €0.5m of the cost of scrapping damaged packaging returned to the offending customers.- Minimised cost to serve of returnable packaging by driving better reporting/visibility and accountability.- Maximised profit by successfully controlling and managing provision of freight rates for existing and potential new business. - Appointed lead contact and representative of Rexam for all discussions related to returnable packaging, with counterparts in Ball, during and after the acquisition of Rexam.

I was initially appointed as Commercial Analyst, providing support to the European Sales team on pricing levels/strategy. Following high-performance, I progressed to European Packaging Co-ordinator in 2002, with subsequent promotion to European Packaging Manager in 2006. | was accountable for optimising European packaging operations, inclusive of warehouse and transport requirements for Benelux region. - Saved 15% annually (€0.45m) by strategically switching from card sheets to plastic, and 25% annually (€0.65m) by transitioning the business from wooden to plastic pallets.- Maximised the value of relationships with service providers; overseeing delivery of all activities related to plastic pallet/plastic layer pad scanning/washing with service providers to agreed levels. - Provided key strategic input and influenced at senior level as chair of annual MPMA (Metal Packaging Manufacturer’s Association) meetings.- Delivered best value and quality for the business by standardising packaging wherever possible, working in conjunction with cross-functional business stakeholders.- Built and sustained a strong quality focused culture, leading by example, setting high standards and ensuring adherence to company quality procedures.- Spearheaded on-target delivery of the roll out of plastic packaging across the European sector; handling conflict and challenges quickly and effectively to ensure business goals were met. - Won best possible terms for the business having led on commercial negotiations with strategic partners from the Benelux region. - Informed senior level decision-making by project managing the assessment of the feasibility and potential benefits/pitfalls of strategic sort/wash centres.

Joined as Customer Account Controller, managing small OEM accounts and handling commercial negotiations. I was promoted to Nissan Business Co-ordinator in 1998, in charge of commercial administration for this key account, spanning 4 plants and 3 countries.
