Key ResponsibilitiesSpares & Service PurchasingContinuously procure materials from vendors as per prepared plan to ensure timely availability of material in the plant. Share approved purchase request with the suppliers to inquire about the quantity and price of material. • Identify alternate channels of procurement, development of indigenous vendors, and other innovative techniques to ensure cost effectiveness of operations. Ensure all vendor payments are processed as per defined credit period term by accounts. Ensure that purchase orders, contracts and service agreements are processed in compliance with organizational policies and procedures Provide inputs on the lead time for purchase of spares to other related departments (Production, Stores, etc.) for proper planning Identify risks that can impact supplier delivery and guide the department to develop mitigation plans based on risk and vulnerability analyses on spend areas.Provide inputs to the Chief Procurement to develop and maintain information updates in the areas of: new equipment and technology, price fluctuation, new/ alternate sources, new materials and methods, etc.• Provide technical expertise for developing specifications for heavy expense capital equipment/ materials in consultation with the user departmentsSupport the Lead & Chief Purchase to Conduct commercial negotiation with identified vendors and suppliers for major/ critical procurement of spares & services to ensure best possible terms of procurement for the organization. Supplier performance managementRegularly oversee quality of selected vendors and provide support for improvement of spares & services quality.
