Ever since I was a little kid, Construction and Infrastructures has been my passion. I still remember, during my frequent site visits accompanied by my grandfather, an Executive Civil Engineer and witnessing megastructures like dams and bridges, I was always excited and would question how engineers managed such large-scale constructions? While finding an answer to this, I was both fascinated and intrigued by the construction industry. I apply it as "open the tap, and there should be water," which is a fundamental idea on which all these bridges and dams function. This practical approach and interest quickly gravitated me towards construction, combined with exposure to real construction sites, led to me choosing civil engineering as a profession.This passion carried me through my education at the University of British Columbia (UBC) (M.Eng in Civil Engineering). Here, more resources and great professors were available to teach and inspire me than I ever could imagine as a kid. I studied Construction Project Management, Project Planning and Control, Infrastructure Planning and Management, Life Cycle Management and Assessment, all with pretty much the same fascination that drove me as a kid. And it was here that I learned truly how much there was yet to learn. So, now in the industry, this passion remains with me. Working as a Project Coordinator and as a Project Management Professional (PMP), I have experience in most project and construction management areas overseeing large Commercial, Residential, Institutional, Utilities and Seismic Upgrade Projects. Also, I have intimate knowledge in Construction and Project Management methodologies, tools and techniques ranging from initiation, project bidding, contract management, planning, estimation, cost control, execution, quality control, monitoring and closing. As an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) and certified Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+),I can better incorporate sustainable and resilient principles and processes into all types of infrastructure projects and strongly believes in equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.I am actively engaged as a Mentor with Project Management Institute (PMI), CWCC Chapter, by mentoring PM-focused students and upcoming project management professionals and as an Event Coordinator with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).I was also selected as a Climate Leader by the City of Vancouver under the Vancouver Community Climate Leadership Pilot Program 2021.
