• Working alongside a hotel engineer to identify a suitable power management system to be incorporated to the existing system to reduce power consumption in one of the hotels.• Regularly liaise with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and Board of Investment of Sri Lanka to obtain various approvals for several ongoing and new hotel projects. • Working with the architects, project manager, contractors and the consultants on Phase One of the construction of one our costal hotels.• Assist the manager with identifying suitable suppliers according to the requirement of the hotel. Also check if the quotation is in compliance with the available budget.

Planned and organised a week long residential orientation programme for nearly 300 students.

• Overlooked the Union’s relationship with the University, and the representation of student views at departmental, faculty and institutional level.• Regularly liaised with the University staff members such as the Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellors and Heads of Departments to discuss and negotiate various matters. • As one of the directors of the Union I set strategic objectives, determined those to be pursued and prepared appropriate business plans for commercial and non-commercial services.

• Analysed the concessions raised over the last two years of all products manufactured in the company. After studying the patterns, recommended preventive methods which produced valuable results.• Evaluated the efficiency, performance and alignments of a second-hand deep boring machine. Later suggested solutions to increase the efficiency of the machine. • Contributed towards the initial design ideas of the ‘Robotic Arm Cleaning Equipment’, which was going to be built to clean the tip of a robotic welding arm. • Monitored and operated a few Computer Numerical Controlled machines which were used to cut out the oil drills from the raw materials.
