Monaco Engineering Solutions (MES) is an independent specialised consultancy performing Risk, Safety, and Reliability studies in the oil and gas sector from project concept development and detail design to supporting plant operations and decommissioning.Lead Engineer and Project Manager on a variety of RAM studies including Gas Plants (sweet and sour), LPG Plants and Petrochemicals Plants in the Middle East. Responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget. Performed safety and risk studies for a variety of oil and gas projects. I have performed feasibility studies to compare different methods for offshore temporary refuge integrity pressure testing. I have been involved in growing and supporting the MES Middle Eastern operations including business development in UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Co-ordinated intern and graduate recruitment process for the UAE offices.

I have been involved several of RAM studies as project manager and Lead Reliability Engineer. I have participated in numerous workshops including Hazard Identification (HAZID), Environmental Aspects Identification (ENVID), Bowtie, Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) / Matrix of Permitted Operations (MOPO), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), Safety Integrity Level (SIL)/ Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Alarm Rationalisation and As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) Demonstration for clients based in Middle East, Italy and South Korea.Involved in Business Development which entails building client relations, constructing business development strategies, developing proposals, costing proposals, tracking bids and attracting new clients. This also includes supporting other Middle East business development operations.

In this role, I have been involved in numerous studies and activities including: HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS / MOPO, SIL / LOPA, Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Bowtie, Safety Critical Elements (SCE) Identification, ALARP Demonstration, DEM-1 / DEM-2, Emergency Escape and Response (EER), RAM and FMECA. As a Risk, Safety and Reliability Engineer, I have also been involved in many commercial aspects of the consultancy business and has prepared tenders, proposals (technical and commercial) and pre-qualification documents for RFQs for a number of services upon receipt of tender documentation from different clients such as QP, Foster Wheeler, KNPC etc. I am also a graduate recruitment coordinator for MES and have promoted and delivered a number of graduate recruitment presentations at universities and reformed the graduate recruitment process at MES.

Ras Laffan, Qatar

Seconded to Client offices in Qatar to provide support for the ORYX GTL HSE department. Activities included participating in Safety Review Assessments (SRA) for various modifications around the plant. I was also heavily involved in the development of a number of HSE standards in compliance to OSHA and OHSAS 18001. These include technical standards for:- Process Equipment Opening and Removal;- Mechanical Isolation;- Electrical Isolation;- Lockout and Tagout (LOTO) of hazardous energy sources; - Confined Space Entry; - Safe Operating & Maintenance Procedures; and- Temporary Bypass of Safety Systems.Alongside the technical standards, forms, checklists, log sheets and procedural flow charts were devised to facilitate immediate implementation of the approved standards.

Atyrau, Kazakhstan

As part of the project team for the Kashagan EP Project, I was involved in consequence modelling using DNV PHAST, toxic release assessment for emergency evacuation, toxic dispersion analysis to determine H2S concentrations at temporary refuges. I also provided technical support to the operations team. Responsibilities included the development of operating procedures for temporary refuges and field temporary refuges. This entailed working onsite to ensure that F&G detectors, airlocks, alarms, communication equipment, etc. are in place and operational for emergency events.
