As a Process Engineer, I focus on optimizing plant processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. My key responsibilities include conducting energy-saving calculations and proposing innovative ideas for minimizing energy consumption. I also monitor plant parameters daily to identify losses and drive process improvements. Additionally, I play a crucial role in verifying processes whenever changes or replacements of equipment are introduced, ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations.

Researched about several biomasses like canola straw, sugarcane baggase etc. ,which can be pyrolysed to make it biochars and adsorb the contaminant 'nitrate' from drinking water. Generally, the surface area of biomass is not so effective for adsorbing these ions/particles ,so our motto was to find the most appropriate biomass and treat those with specific activation reagents like AlCl3 /H3PO4/Mn/Zn etc. to increase their surface area and potential to more than hundred times for adsorbing Nitrates. I also got to learn about the removal of PFAS and phosphate from water by helping other labmates.
