Led a team of 4 Data Scientists working on data analytics, quant finance and machine learning projects - KAIRO (Kristal's AI Robo Advisor) - Led research, backtesting and implementation of a quant based (using Bayesian Optimisation) portfolio management strategies. Backtesting proved a consistent ~10% return over a decade and outperformance over benchmarks both in risk and return in stress testing during GFC (2008-09). Attracted an investment of over 10MM USD within 3 months of release. - Investment advice Personalisation - Experimentation to predict (using Gaussian Processes) a user's next investment based on his/her behaviour history on the platform. The algorithm showed an AUC of 82% promising efficient predictability. Worked on the initial design of a rule-based engine to generate user-based insights for the investment advisors. - Ranking Stocks and ETFs - Research & implementation of a quant model that used Monte Carlo simulations & captured momentum and anti-momentum indicators. Top ranked Stocks by the algorithm showed an average outperformance over SPY index by an alpha of 3.5% over a 7-year backtest.

Research and design of Computer Vision based tools to detect safety violations in manufacturing industries, effecting deployment in companies like P&G, Cipla. Applications included detection of safety apparels like helmet, gloves, shoes; safe climbing of staircase; distance from heavy machinery.

- Outlier Detection tools: Built angle-based outlier detection tool using an existing k-NN implementation. Improved the same with a near-linear time approximation on Hadoop. Used the algorithm to a) catch high-balance defaulters and b) pre-emptively detect and replace faulty card-reading machines in Indian and Australian market. - Automation of rule-mining (using PRIM) for Customer Management Strategies to be able to better cross-sell Amex products.

- Extended the high-frequency Trading platform for the Italian exchange- Ported the existing Linux platform to Windows, thereby covering the Russian Exchange

Cryptography-related - Researched on a corruption-free aggregation of data and signatures in a tree topology based sensor network, which can be corrupted by adversaries.
