I am an Applied Psychologist at Breathe Counselling Center, currently providing teletherapy for adults for a wide variety of concerns. I am also a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Kelaniya. I have completed my BSc in Psychology and Counselling from Aquinas University College, and my MSc in Applied Psychology (specialising in Clinical and Counselling Psychology) from Coventry University, UK and an MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of West London, UK. While currently, my role involves providing therapy and lecturing, I have previously served as the Secretary of the Sri Lanka National Association of Counsellors and was a freelance writer on the topics of mental health for Happinez Magazine by The Sunday Morning. My research interests lie in the areas of health psychology, emotional intelligence, and positive psychology. My most recent research involved exploring the impact of health beliefs on preventative health behaviours and coping behaviours during Covid-19.As a psychologist, I support individuals with varying concerns such as depression and mood-related concerns, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, stress & anger management. I also conduct webinars and workshops on the topics of mental health habits, positive psychology, emotion regulation, resilience, and relationships. As a lecturer, I have covered a variety of courses for undergraduates including cognitive psychology, social psychology, behavioural psychology, psychotherapeutic treatments, and biopsychology. In addition to face-to-face teaching experience, I am also experienced in online teaching.
