Born and raised in the city with big shoulders, Chicago, Il. I've been living in Reno, NV for about 15 years. I pride myself in being a hard worker who pays attention to the smallest detail. I like to be creative and I'm always interested in learning. I work at a place where I get to use my creativity to design, my problem-solving skills to develop all while making a difference in the community. I maintain and actively develop 8 websites with at least one new website scheduled to be released each year. Using various PHP frameworks and CMSs, I have to make sure all of the websites are at optimal performance levels for the thousands of users and judges that will visit each site. Routinely I'm asked to incorporate new features to the sites. On new projects, I am in charge from beginning to end. The design stage has me creating wireframes and prototypes. Pre-development work is done by making sure server, database, domain name is ready for the new site. During development stage I take my designs and bring them to life in code. The final step has me launching the site live. I'm proficient in a wide range of web languages, frameworks and tools including C#, VB, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, XML, HTML5 and CSS, LESS, SASS. I'm also knowledgeable in database administration, server management, web site analytics and SEO best practices. I've recently become interested in web accessibility as it relates to 508 compliance. My current interest in 508 compliance has made me a much better web developer. Whereas before my designs/development allowed me to create great-looking, functional websites, now I'm making sure everyone gets the same user experience, including people with disabilities.My goal is to stay up-to-date on all web-related, and digital media technologies and trends. I want to be a major part in helping the organization I work for succeed. It feels great knowing that what I do is helping to make a difference in so many people's lives.
