Green Tree Company is a market leader for Home Loan Servicing. I am part of the Collections department and work with a team of several back-end (be) developers on the iSeries where the processes that run are Stored Procedures (SP) in either native SQL or External language of RPGLE. These SP calls are invoked from the front-end (fe) user interface named UCSe for the Universal Collections System – enterprise edition, a .NET Framework application. Both back-end and front-end systems are legacy applications. Both (fe) and (be) teams have to work together to solve problems which arise from the integration of these two diverse technologies. I worked as a (be) developer using RDi extensively and system entry point for debug – due to the invocation for these (fe) SP calls from UCSe. I really enjoy my work at the mortgage industry leader.

Wynne Systems is the premier supplier of Rental Industry software named RENTALMAN for 9 out of the 10 major industry companies. Developed on the IBM i and written in native Free RPG ILE. This involves heavy use of service programs and sub-procedures along with binding directories. These systems are integrated with JVM applications using other components such as JSP, JDBC, XML, SOAP and other API's for the IBM i. This is a very robust application which utilizing state of the art software. My responsibilities are primarily in the support department, debugging and applying fixes to the existing application modules, but also my duties involve new system design and development. The customer business applications involved the Dental Insurance industry. As a member of a small contracting team, we provided custom Free Form RPGLE programming for both structured and object oriented development, for the newly legislated HIPAA requirements. This involved over 14 months of analysis and development, and was written on the IBM i in Free Form RPG ILE with DB2 SQL Embedded along with Stored Procedures; some C development and JDBC were also incorporated into this project.
