As a Nursing Informatics Systems Manager I am a proponent of the integration of emerging technologies to facilitate improving healthcare quality and safety. As a clinician and administrator, I have forged a career path that has afforded me many opportunities, to select, deploy & enhance IT solutions, which have supported hospital operations, enhanced care quality & safety and improved regulatory compliance.During my 20+ year career in the healthcare field, I have personally witnessed the benefits of implementing systems & solutions that streamline processes, support physicians and staff, and reduce human errors, creating a consistently safer patient care environment. Both professionally and personally, I have devoted much time and energy to championing this mission by: ☑ Creating and enhancing Nursing documentation, Critical Care Flow Sheets, patient education tools, as well as Provider and Interdisciplinary documentation.☑ Contributing to multiple IT projects that supported Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE), ePrescription, e-care plans, and Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA).☑ Improving opioid management through Clinical Decision Support (CDS) tools.☑ Serving as an adviser to the Nurse Practice Council’s Informatics Committee (2011-Present).☑ Serving as a Co-Chair of the St. Joseph’s annual Informatics Fair (2012-Present).
