-Analyzes all types of capitated and fee-for-service provider contracts, performs variance analysis-Produces ad hoc reports to satisfy information needs across products/segments and markets.-Develops provider compensation and fee schedules.-Utilizes and maintains pricing models and medical cost tracking tools.-Provides analysis and support for planning and forecasting of medical costs. -Supports the maintenance of scoreable action items documents by providing ad hoc analysis.-Researches overpayments and prepares projects for recovery. -Works within the region and supports achievement of regional operating plan targets.

-Support actuarial function by applying quantitative skills and analytical methods-Assign translations to benefit line values using actuarial mapping tool with close attention to quality and meeting overall deadlines-Upload team data and translations to benefit indexing library on a weekly basis-Provide bi-weekly statistical report to management on production of team translations-Perform random checks of benefit indexing library in order to maintain integrity and quality of team translations-Mentor analysts and consultants on various job functions

-Complete audits for Mid-Atlantic and West regions providing feedback to regional underwriting teams and regional actuaries regarding results-Prepare annual actuarial certifications for the state Departments of Insurance -Distribute monthly HMO premium reconciliation reports and follow up with underwriters as necessary-Respond to ad-hoc requests in relation to case specific data in a timely fashion-Mentor less experienced analysts in the development of their auditing skills

-Identify, evaluate and manage risk in order to maximize revenue, membership and earnings while adhering to Aetna’s Code of Conduct and Value System-Perform accurate analysis and risk assessment -Develop premium and create exhibits using prior claim experience and rating tools while applying underwriter judgment as warranted-Provide superior service and cost effective benefit choices to marketing representatives in support of renewing Aetna’s Medical Insurance business-Show integrity consistent with Aetna’s Value System by honoring commitments and establishing relationships with all constituents -Handle complex casework while participating in project work groups including process improvement initiatives -Negotiate and communicate rate development, pricing components and application of underwriting policies while remaining conscious of financial objectives-Collaborate and share information cross functionally with internal constituents-Mentor less experienced underwriters in the development of their technical skills
