I had establish the department in the company as I find the need for it.Steel door industry mostly is non standard product with a lot of variables which affect the design as the steel gauge , frame profile , hardware cutouts , door insulation , color .. etc , so it is very necessary to control the process prefabrication very well with the engineering department and make sure that the shop drawings drived from the client specification totally meets his requirements to avoid any change… Show more I had establish the department in the company as I find the need for it.Steel door industry mostly is non standard product with a lot of variables which affect the design as the steel gauge , frame profile , hardware cutouts , door insulation , color .. etc , so it is very necessary to control the process prefabrication very well with the engineering department and make sure that the shop drawings drived from the client specification totally meets his requirements to avoid any change required after the fabrication.The operations departments composed of two designers , four draft men , two estimators and four programmers.The two designers start the process by receive the inquiry from the sales and he make analysis for the project spects and prepare free hand sketch shop drawing and material take off to forward to estimators by which they prepare the costing and the pricing as per the design detail specifications.If the quotation approved , the draft men prepare the shop drawings as per the specification and the free hand sketches given to them by the designers.The shop drawings contain the door schedule with all measurements and hardware set schedule.If the shop drawings approved we are clear for fabrication upon receiving the sales RTP (request to proceed form).At the time of fabrication , the material take off sent to ware house to start contact the purshase department to supply the material.The programmers prepare the machine programs and the hard ware cut outs as per the projects specification.The existing of operation department will assure you the following:-exact matching between the quotation specification and the shop drawing and the client specification.-Any change in the specification or modification done in the shop drawings will directly resembled in the quotation.-The material take off will assure the company right , that the quotation based on certain material specification that actually send later on as material purchasing.
