Carbon Office is an interdisciplinary design office practicing a variation of work involving the built environment, including urban design, planning, tactical urbanism, creative placemaking, real estate development, and sustainability consulting. We specialize in designing the performance of building and environmental systems that are responsive to technological, social, ecological, and economic challenges.

Documented events, lectures, exhibitions through video, photography and social media platforms for the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning

Taught under Geoffrey Thün and Jen Maigret for a course called Sustainable Systems, focused on teaching students about the vast range of systems that affect the natural and built environment. Teaching allowed me to understand how to work alongside and manage peers enrolled in the graduate program. In comparison to the role of a project manager the graduate instructor position instilled the ability to manage my time well and program my own discussion sections that focused on class debates, writing assignments, and drawing exercises with a class of 20 students.

At the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale I served as a fellow that was tasked with installing the exhibit for nine architecture offices based on their detailed installation instructions, documenting the installation and de-installation, as well as using my photography background in capturing the event for publications such as Wired, Curbed, and World Architecture. This was a very prestigious fellowship which allowed me to meet and work for some of my favorite contemporary architects. The challenge of an official keeper of records during such an installation required me to constantly check in with the various teams during install and be present for every detailed moment. The Registrar document I created was then used for additional installations of the exhibit in Detroit and Los Angeles once leaving Venice.
