Project will utilize advanced cellular biomanufacturing techniques in combination with tissue engineering strategies with the goal of developing a meniscus tissue construct.

Project investigated cell adhesion, proliferation, and migration of induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes from patients with Down syndrome and control patients, to elucidate the dysregulated pathways of cardiac septation in Down syndrome.Project investigated Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), comparing proliferation rates and cell area of induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes from HLHS patients and control patients, to gain an understanding of how disrupted mechanical signaling pathways cause the defects observed in HLHS.

Provides an eight-week research experience for undergraduates from underrepresented groups to enhance their preparation for graduate study. Participated in the virtual professional development program in place of the in-person program due to COVID-19.
