Dr. Salem is a consultant for the chairman of board of directors and board trustee assistant at Saudi electricity company, and used to be the Director General of Technical Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Minerals Resources (MEIM), Saudi Arabia. He is a member of several national committees include: Smart Grids & Meters and Localization of Industries & Services related to Water & Electricity sectors; Saudi National World Energy Council and several Saudi-international Joint Commissions. He has over 15 years of industry experience and his areas of expertise and interest include: communications systems (Geo-locating technology); smart grid and smart meter applications; leadership and management; project management (life cycle cost estimation and risk analysis).Dr. Balamash received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia, a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia, a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Florida Institute of Technology, USA, and a Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering (with a communications systems focus) from Florida Institute of Technology, USA.
