At NAMSA, I am responsible for planning and conducting microbiology testing, data analysis and writing reports. Over the past year I completed over 15 standard and customised client microbiology projects in a diverse range of topics including carrier and suspension tests, antibiofilm (MBEC, Drip Flow and CDC), viral inactivation (TCID50 assay), wound dressing, oral hygiene, cytotoxicity and ELISA studies. I also chaired team meetings and gave technical support for the laboratory manager and commercial team. As a Scientist II, part of my duties included the mentoring of Junior Scientists and Lab Techs while creating and reviewing R&D protocols. At NAMSA I developed a microbial enumeration technique that saved up to £50k/year in consumables.

At PlasmaFresh I was responsible for setting up a microbiology testing laboratory and purchase of supplies. Additionally, I created protocols and SOPs for testing on food manufacturing surfaces after decontamination with Cold Plasma.

Lead BioLab Scientist at the Centre for Plasma Microbiology with duties including the completion as primary investigator of two multidisciplinary research projects focused on the eradication of clinically relevant biofilms from medical devices by Low- Temperature Plasma. Part of my duties as a Postdoc included day-to-day supervision of two PhD students. I was involved in a multidisciplinary study aimed to develop a Plasma Treated Water device for viral surface disinfection.

Coordinated training on bacteriophage manipulation.

As a module demonstrator at the Uni of Liverpool, I assisted course coordinators in 1st and 2nd year modules (Techniques in Cell biology, Advanced Microbiology Techniques, experimental Skills in Current Biology and Biochemical Methods) with duties including lecturing, practical sessions supervision and assignment marking.

As part of my Masters research project, I led a study across two different research groups for the development of a RFLP- PCR technique designed for accurate identification of Staphylococcus spp. found in canine skin infections.
