After graduating from UC San Diego with a BSc in Biochemistry/ Chemistry, I began working as a research associate within the Freire Lab at J. Craig Venter Institute. My current role is directly involved in the design, execution, and analysis of spatial transcriptomic projects which encompass a mixture of image analysis and gene/ transcript expression analysis. Some of the tools I use on a daily basis include R (data exploration, analysis, and visualization), QuPath (marker quantification and ML image training), and GraphPad Prism. I'm also involved on other projects that make use of molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, ELISA, and cell work. Outside of work, I'm pursuing ways to improve upon my medical school application. Currently, I'm studying to take the MCAT and looking to join a clinic volunteer program. Although I'm improving my medical knowledge and experience, I still feel a need to interact with patients to gain a deeper understanding of what a good practitioner to patient relationship is. However, I try and stay up to date with the current issues both doctors and patients face.On my free time, I enjoy long distance running, questioning my life choices with golf, and spending time at the park with my dog.
