Assessment, rehabilitation, maintenance and operation of a 2x300 MW (Ansaldo and MHI/Toshiba) heavy fuel oil thermal power plant in Assuit/Egypt. The works include:• Supervise overhaul, maintenance and commissioning activities.• Inspect fuel and air delivery systems and optimize the burners operation.• Analyze PFD, P&ID to assist in process safety studies and identify areas for process enhancement.• Monitor and analyze the operation of plant major equipment. • Leading performance analysis on boilers, steam turbines and heat exchangers.• Assessing the latest repair techniques aiming at minimizing investment and downtime while attaining optimum performance. Process heater life extension in a steel plant in Abu Dhabi/UAE. The works included:• Conducted Root cause analysis on process gas heater convective pass damage.• Evaluate the fuel and air delivery systems to the process gas heater burners.• Conducted CFD analysis to evaluate retrofits.Leading the design modifications of existing Heavy Fuel Oil burners in a 300MW thermal power plant to enhance combustion efficiency and reduce NOx emissions.

Delivering root cause analysis, solutions and optimized performance to clients inSingle/Dual cycle plants, Steam power plants, Desalination plants and Chemicalprocess plants. My responsibilities included: Performing heat transfer, aerodynamic and efficiency analysis of systems under interest in single and combined cycle power plants. Performing feasibility analysis of potential unit upgrades and power augmentation. Modeling and optimizing processes performances.

Leading a team to establish the Nano-fluid laboratory at the institute. Monitoring the quality and the performance of the laboratory equipment. Performing experimental research that generated results which havebeen published in international journals and institutions.Research: Preparing stable colloidal dispersion systems of nano-particles in conventional liquids (Nanofluids) such as water and investigating the enhanced thermo-physical behavior of colloidal systems ie; Nanofluids as a potential replacement for cooling liquids, lubricants, and insulators.
