Inuka Cultural Center is a youth empowerment program that uses movement arts, interactive knowledge-based workshops, entrepreneurship, and professional development training to create expanded life choices for youth and communities. Based in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya, Inuka consists of three pillar programs: Slum Dance Africa; Capoeira Angola Center Kibera; and The Empowerment Program for Girls.

Brought to you by Sapna Chandaria of Soulful Living Kenya and co-hosted by Salim Rollins of Soul Flow, our heartfelt intention is to bring the vibrant, and growing, Nairobi wellness community together in this sacred space. We invite you to join us in this energy of sharing, learning, healing, and authentic discovery. This two-day event will serve as a platform to showcase the different modalities, practitioners, healers, therapists and teachers that are available in Nairobi. We have carefully curated your Nairobeing experience and we encourage you to participate in movement classes and workshops that take you out of your comfort zone. NAIROBEING will host a movement studio; an intergenerational art zone; a Nairobeing treatment area; an Africology spa; a healthy food court; a range of wellness vendors; a full workshop schedule covering diverse topics; meditations and live sound experiences.As a community, we value and encourage the spiritual growth of our children so we are offering kids classes and activities. In November 2017, I hosted an international Capoeira Angola and African arts festival that brought Grand Mestre João Grande to Kenya. The festival drew participants from Japan, USA, Egypt, Colombia, Angola and Germany. Launched a fundraising campaign across two social media platforms that enabled more than 40 youths from Kenyan slums and orphanages to participate free of cost.

Soul Flow Kenya offers classes, workshops and retreats in yoga, dance and other wellness practices throughout Kenya. In 2016 Soul Flow organized two retreats: Move & Flow: Capoeira & Yoga Retreat (Nakuru) and Yoga on Dub: a Reggae & Yoga Festival (Diani & Kilifi) with musician Jah9. Founder, Salim Rollins, teaches regular classes in Nairobi. Salim’s class brings the sounds of global soul music together with a “vinyasa” or “flow” style yoga.

Katangoma is a social enterprise headquartered in Kenya that works with music and movement artists (performing and non-performing) to offer structured, inspiring and affordable co-curricular and off-school, music and movement programs to children from early childhood to pre-teenage years.Katangoma's music and movement classes help children to develop their innate musicality and much, much more. In their formative years of development, Katangoma helps children and parents appreciate arts and therefore enable parents to be more open to nurturing their children’s talent to pursue their passion in music and movement.

An experiential event production specialist Salim offers a rich portfolio of high-quality events produced across the United States, Brazil, Kenya, and Tanzania. An expert at mobilizing people, Salim crafts engaging events designed to raise awareness, increase healthy behavior, fundraise, and promote specific campaigns. His experience in executing high-end events under pressure within the constraints of working in the developing world makes him an asset to clients looking to create memorable moments for their customers or the community at large.Since 2000, Salim Rollins has maintained a dedicated yoga practice. Certified as an instructor through Yoga Alliance in 2007, he studied under the mentorship of several master teachers including Jhon Tamayo (New York), Ullas Kumar (Kerala, India), and Sudhesh Chandra (Mysore, India). Additionally, Salim teaches the Afro-Brazilian martial art, Capoeira Angola.

Facilitated a training for parents on integrating school curricula at home Developed and conducted trainings for local and international staff on strategies for cultivating a culture of peace and unity within the school. Trainings took place quarterly in Gachie, Kenya.The core components of the trainings were:• How to integrate kinesthetic activities into daily lessons; • Development of inter-peer emotional awareness between staff and students; • Instructing staff in verbal optimal communication practices with students • Fostering an environment were the staff can implement the 7 steps of conflict resolution with students and among themselves; and • Instruction in the use of mindfulness practices to build focus, attention, and tranquility within the classroom
