I have been working in the arts industry for 20 years and have experience working in galleries, visitor experience, community arts and facilitating workshops. I enjoy public programming and contemporary art. As an artist I am trained in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and art history.I worked with HOTA, Home of the Arts (formerly The Arts Centre Gold Coast) for 6 years after starting as the Art Gallery Guide in 2015, where I developed programming to build new audiences. I finished as the Visitor Services Coordinator- Gallery, where I recruited and trained team for the new Gallery.Over the six years my experience was diverse, ranging from Artists Commissions through to public programs for exhibitions, delivering and training delivery of tours, social media, research for catalogues and essays, developing policy, managing team, visitor service operations and more.My career in arts began when I studied fine art at the University of Tasmania in 1997-99, specialising in painting and drawing. After travelling overseas I completed a Diploma in Youth and Community Work and worked as an arts youth worker in Tasmania and Sydney for three years. I completed honours in painting at UTAS and following this I completed my Graduate Diploma in museum studies at the University of Queensland. I worked part time with Artisan, the object and craft gallery. After this I worked at Redland Art Gallery. I diversified by working with Queensland Rail and facilitated public art across 20 stations on the Brisbane Network. My own design can be seen at Corinda Station.
