Sally Wright is a printmaker based on the Gold Coast. She graduated from the School of Art, UTAS specialising in printmaking for her honours. Her style is painterly abstract, exploring texture, surface, contrast and hidden meanings. Her exhibiting career includes four solo exhibitions, artist in residence stints and regular participation in group shows nationally. She enjoys making art accessible for others, whether it be through workshops, tours or other activations. She has a background in youthwork, project management as well as being a practising artist. After working as Visitor Services Coordinator with a shared responsibility for coordinating the visitor services across the HOTA precinct, I became responsible for the visitor services officers and volunteers at the HOTA Gallery. Ensure a high standard of customer service and full coverage of shifts for all opening hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays at the HOTA Gallery; filling service gaps as required.Maintain a regular presence in the public domain and support resolution of visitor service issues with team and manage escalation. Worked collaboratively as one of three Visitor Service Coordinators to hire, train and manage the inaugural Visitor Services Officers for the new HOTA Gallery. Developed and implemented opening policies and procedures for the management of the visitor experience and care of Gallery spaces and artworks on display. Fostered human centred touchpoints with a ‘step forward’ approach. Trained in FISH customer service for managers, and mentored team in the FISH method. Jointly increased team from 12 part time recruits to 50 full time, part time and casual and 150 volunteers.Sustained high level of knowledge relevant to visitors about HOTA, including the HOTA Collection (4500+ artworks), exhibitions and programs in the Gallery and broader precinct, facilities and amenities, and other cultural and recreational tourism experiences of the Gold Coast.
