With success in the Sales Executive role I was promoted to Client Manager which involved achievingand maintaining client relationships. For many clients I was their first point of contact and whenapproached by a new client, I would visit them accompanied by one of the consultants. I organisedvisits for the consultancy team and ensured they were carried out in a timely manner andsafeguarded the quality control of their reports. I arranged and administered IOSH and ECITBaccredited courses both at the centre and in-house as well as tailored courses for several of ourlarger clients. I continued to manage and improve the CRM system with the inputting of client dataand implementing initiatives to ensure the system is suitable for all users.

I was promoted to Sales Executive which resulted in a 40% increase in sales across consultancy andtraining. I drove sales through the existing client database and created new client relationships.Techniques used to grow sales included attending networking events, visiting client premises andstrategic calling of our target markets.

I was approached by one of the Directors of The Bradley Group and started at this Kent Health andSafety consultancy and training business supporting the Office Manager with course preparation forIOSH courses and open courses, typing up client’s reports and creating both sales reports and work inprogress reports for the MD. I started up and managed a CRM system inputting client data andtrained existing staff members and new starters. Given my previous experience I was given theresponsibility of data integrity running regular data inception reports.

Following the success of my appointment as conflict administrator, I was promoted to head ofdepartment just before my 21st birthday. The team had grown from 2 to 7 and it was myresponsibility to maintain 100% compliance at all times ensuring we were free to take newinstructions. This involved going out to meet clients to gather full and accurate information about thenew case they were offering us, running checks to ascertain whether or not Clydes already had aninstruction from another party and then speak to the appropriate solicitor within the firm to allocatethe case. I had to ensure the information was correctly entered into the database by running regulardata inception reports and making sure members of the team were fully trained and confident intheir role.

I started at this International Law Firm in the City of London straight from school. I supported theConflict of Interest manager who had responsibility to ensure we were free to act on a new case.Clyde & Co is one of the top law firms in the country and has numerous offices around the world.Their specialisms were diverse and wide ranging and data integrity was of the utmost importance. Imanaged the client database ensuring the information was 100% accurate to safeguard against newinstructions being taken by more than one party. The department handled new cases for all offices.In 1983 we had over 3,000 new instructions with a 20% growth every year thereafter.
