I am an experienced writer and editor, with a keen interest in the arts, particularly theatre. My role at ASCL involves managing the online content, together with leading on and executing the strategies for ASCL's social media platforms. I also write, edit and create guidance and resource materials for members and the wider education sector. I love theatre and am an experienced reviewer, currently reviewing for British Theatre Guide http://www.britishtheatreguide.info. In February 2024, I achieved level 2 Counselling Skills through Bridgwater and Taunton College.As well as working at ASCL, I pursue my own interests as a writer, editor, and published poet. From 2012 to 2016 I co-founded and co-ran Upstairs at the Western, Leicester's first pub theatre. I was also media manager of Off the Fence Theatre Company from 2011 to 2020 and co-founder and director of De Montfort Books Ltd. I also enjoyed the role of Spoken Word (Midlands) Editor for Sabotage Reviews from 2015-2019. http://sabotagereviews.comI write creatively including literary fiction and poetry, as well as for business. I have excellent editing skills and can critique poetry and scripts, mainly for theatre, as well as proofreading, copywriting and copyediting. I have organised many networking and fundraising events for various charities and organisations.And in my other spare moments, I enjoy representing Kibworth Tennis Club in the ladies and mixed doubles' teams, I love to cook and bake and am a bit of a foodie, I'm learning how to play my left-handed bass guitar, I run the ASCL Book Club, and keep myself balanced with yoga. Oh, and I love word and number puzzles and have a keen interest in punctuation.
