Sally Klose Strategic Solutions is founded on experience developing organisations, events and projects for local government, community organisations and business. I have a deep understanding of the complexities of an organisation and the ability to skilfully balance competing demands and provide practical and outcome-based solutions. My breadth of experience has made me a well-rounded professional capable of undertaking and leading projects across a range of disciplines. My special interests are: planning and project facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement and governance systems and advice.

Bilyarra Black is a 3,000 acre farming business focusing on prime lamb production, with land in Lucindale and Kingston.

In 2012, I joined the Naracoorte Lucindale Council as the Governance and Communications Officer & in 2014 was promoted to the position of Manager Governance & Community Development, leading Council’s governance, communication & community engagement, library services, visitor information centre, town halls, Limestone Coast Volunteer Service, community services activities & events & delivering the relevant outcomes in Council’s Strategic Management Plans. Key achievements in this role are:•conducting 2 Council elections, developing the Elected Members induction, completing Council’s representation review & developing systems to manage Council’s governance obligations •initiated a Community Art Framework, which resulted in the introduction of a Community Art Fund and the employment of an Arts and Cultural Facilitator •sought funding for & initiated the Inspire SA Naracoorte World Heritage on our Doorstep project collaborating with the Naracoorte Art Gallery, Naracoorte High School, University of Adelaide and the Naracoorte Caves using art to the tell scientific story of the Naracoorte Caves.•managed the inaugural Limestone Coast Multicultural Soccer Carnival and MegaFest - Naracoorte World Heritage Festival and Run – prepared successful grant applications for both events.•facilitated Council’s Harmony Day events and the Lucindale triple j One Night Stand.•facilitated meetings with the Hazara community to allow Muslim burials to occur in Naracoorte •managed Council’s involvement in the Garage Sale Trail – achieving the most sales registered per capita in South Australia • initiated strategies to ensure Council’s communications remain relevant ensuring an online presence for all visitor points of interest and developed social media and websites. •represented Council on the Limestone Coast Tourism Management Group & the Limestone Coast Collaborative supporting the development of the Destination Tourism & Marketing Plan & delivering the regional brand.

The Stand Like Stone Foundation is a dynamic philanthropic organisation serving the Limestone Coast. It operates on the Community Foundation model and is incorporated as a Public Company that is also a charitable organisation. As Executive Officer, I had a broad portfolio encompassing strategic and business planning, budgeting, organisational policy and compliance, corporate governance, administration, marketing and communications, financial and investment management, community development, fund development and grant making.During my time as Executive Officer I grew both the operational funds and the funds available for distributing to charitable projects and scholarships (the corpus). With the support of the Board and community, funds held in trust (the corpus) grew from $24,572 (June 2005) to $822,218 (June 2012).

Stand Like Stone Foundation - successful project development and grant applications, over seven years for example the Back to School Program, Stay at School Program, Melaleuca Park Primary School to take year 6 and 7 students to Adelaide and the Early Intervention Swimming Program for children with special needs.Lucindale Skate Park - $10,000 successful grant application to the Premier's Fund to help build a skate park in Lucindale.Lucindale Lions Club - $20,000 successful project development and grant application for a transport service for disadvantaged people in Lucindale.Lucindale Lions Club - $172,427 (total project costs $458,865) successful project development and grant application to improve infrastructure at Lucindale’s Yakka Park and purchase and construct a pavilion.Lucindale Community Economic Development Board – successful grant applications for small community projects such as obtaining a heater for the community gallery, computing for Seniors, customer service workshop, upgrade to the toilets at Avenue Range and information board at the cemetery.

The Community Builders Program was a grass roots community leadership/development program delivered in regional South Australia and initiated by the State Government. As the Local Facilitator I was responsible for designing and coordinating the various programs and process, recruiting participants, linking participants to experiences, models, methodologies, networks, information and resources, group worker, encouraging collaboration and being the local ambassador for the program.

As Co-ordinator I worked closely with lecturers, local industry, the local community and other support agencies to identify and co-ordinate vocational and fee for service courses to meet the needs of the community.

My career commenced in the state office for fashion retailer Country Road receiving the best business and people management and sales and customer service training ever (still to this day). Over seven years at Country Road experience was gained in business and people development. Transferable skills, lessons and experiences that provided a framework for future roles are budgeting, setting and measuring key performance indicators, award and enterprise agreement interpretation, human resource administration, recruitment, training and induction, people management and customer service and sales.
