About Sally Ann Ranney

Sally has a four decade plus career. She works in the public & private sectors at the local, national & international levels. She is a respected businesswoman, visionary & strategist with a broad & deep experience in land management, renewable energy, wetlands banking & impact investing as well as in biodiversity, wildlife & wildlands preservation, sustainable & circular economies, water & watershed management/restoration & climate change solutions sectors. Sally is devoted to preserving Mother Nature for future generations & a strong believer in intergenerational knowledge sharing.Sally is currently Co-Founder/President of international NGO, Global Choices & its global leadership network of young women climate justice activists; Arctic Angels. She is also President Emeritus/Co-Founder of American Renewable Energy Institute (AREI) & AREDAY Summit. Sally is Chair of the Conservation Committee for The Explorer’s Club, is an Advisor for CORE & an Advisory Council Member of Daughters of the Earth. She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Wildlife Federation, the Bonobo Conservation Initiative, the Climate Accountability Institute, is a Founding Benefactor of Artemis & serves as Vice President of Colorado Headwaters. She is a Senior Advisor to the One Humanity Institute (Poland), the Women’s Earth & Climate Action Network (USA) & the Getches Wilkinson Natural Resources Law Center, University of Colorado. Over the course of her career, Sally has worked with three US Presidents, including Carter, Clinton & his transition team, and was appointed a member of the Presidential Commission on American Outdoors, by President Ronald Reagan.She was a founding Board member of the Grand Canyon Trust & served for three years as a Patron of Nature for IUCN & on the Board of Directors of the Gallmann Nature Conservancy (Kenya). She was a Resource Policy Analyst for The Wilderness Society, after which she co-founded American Wildlands, serving as its President for 20 years & orchestrating the development of Corridors of Life. She has also served as advisor to Round Rock Partners, LLC & Goldman Sachs.Sally has received many Recognitions & Awards, including the Horace Albright Award, International Conservation Award (USA Govt); Earth Stewardship Award (Earth Guardians’); American Riviera Woman Entrepreneur of the Year (ARWEY) Award Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) Lifetime Achievement Award; Lifetime Achievement Recognition, Lighthawk. She was recently named one of thirty five women to be included in the International Women in Wildlife.
