I am a firm believer in life-long learning and am incredibly driven to better myself and all organizations I am a part of. I am currently seeking an internship opportunity for the Summer of 2025, with an interest in Civil Engineering and Finance in the private sector. I am eager to apply my skills, enthusiasm, and dedication to contribute meaningfully to a team.As a current intern at WisDOT, I have been working on developing a Traffic Control Plan involving work items on culverts, pavement replacement, shoulder replacement and widening, right-of-way fence replacement, and multiple wing-wall replacements on a box culvert. With a "catch-all" project like this one, our goal is to safely implement a 5 part staged plan to periodically shift traffic to complete work items while maintaining flow on the road which sees ~15,000 vehicles per day. Previous experience I have had on this project also incudes field surveys and analysis of the 60 culverts within the project limits that show aging from their initial 1950s installation. Some culverts will have a full liner, others just a reset or replacement of endwalls and sections; Nonetheless, all of these items have to be analyzed and documented accurately so the work can be done to mitigate the problem.Quantities of materials have also been done to update our estimates to hopefully ensure we have the most accurate final design price before going into our bidding process.Outside of my work at WisDOT, I enjoy spending time with my parents in Duluth, MN where they keep their boat. Most summers we take a trip to the Apostle Islands or Isle Royale and enjoy lots of quality time in the sun and water.
