After over 6 amazing years as the Founder and Executive Director of The Brodie Fund it was time for a new mission. All of us at The Brodie Fund are forever proud that we gave 71 grants totaling over $200,000 to help pets fight cancer. The gift of time always at the center of our mission.The Brodie Fund has prepared me well to launch a new nonprofit called Mission Meow.Mission Meow works with businesses to increase the level of charitable donations for small feline-centric nonprofits to help create meaningful change for cats in need.Nothing like this has been done before, but we are building an amazing team with diverse experience so that we can make real impact in the world of feline-centric nonprofits.Our launch goal is October 2022. Because many cats live indoors, don’t show symptoms, hate the carrier/car and the vet’s office many owners choose to avoid what is deemed to stressful or difficult.As a behaviorist and cat advocate I can offer solutions so that we can move the needle, change the statistics and keep our cats healthy. All of our cats should be “Feline Fine”.

    The Brodie Fund offers grants to families who have pets fighting cancer. No pet should be denied the treatments they need in the fight of their lives because of the owner's inability to pay. Working in conjunction with participating hospitals and doctors The Brodie Fund will be able to help pay for life extending and life saving procedures. Other times we are just seeking for quality of life for our pets in the time we have left and The Brodie Fund is here for that too. We personally know all too well the financial burdens having a pet with cancer causes. Our Brodie has had multiple procedures, radiation, medications and special prescription food. We are also pursuing acupuncture and homeopathy at additional cost for better quality of life. So as you can see we understand, personally.     Intake Evaluators are charged with collecting information on feline candidates for our program. They visit the cats in need prior to entry to our program to gather information on looks, behavior and medical status. We are not able to help all the cats we are notified about, and we are not a hospice organization designed for long term care of the cats; we are a placement agency working to select cats that are suitable for placement in our applicants' homes. Cats must meet base qualifications in looks, behaivor and medical status; approval is done by a Review Committee and is based not only on the cat itself, but also on the resources available at the time of need (foster space for example). Because we stand behind every cat that enters our program for the duration of the cat's life, always available to help it in the future if the need arises, we work to choose our program candidates wisely.

I am currently a volunteer at All Fur Love Animal Rescue and Little Silver Animal Hospital.I am a matchmaker, a playtime buddy, a lap to curl up in and dispenser of catnip!! I know how much I miss my boys when I go away and know how important it is to know they are safe and loved when you can’t be home. I will make sure they are safe and loved as if they are my own!
