Sally Wright is a Principal Turbine Engineer in the DNV GL Turbine Technology Group. She brings 16 years of experience in wind power and over 20 years’ broad experience in design and project management in the fields of renewable energy, energy conservation, and power system controls. Ms. Wright joined Garrad Hassan in 2008, where she lead North American due diligence work related to wind turbine technology, assessing and projecting wind turbine reliability, availability and suitability for wind projects throughout the region,with responsibility for inspection of construction, manufacturing, and failures of wind turbines and components.

Ms. Wright formerly served as project manager and staff engineer at the University of Massachusetts’ Renewable Energy Research Laboratory for over seven years, with a primary focus on technical project development for community-scale wind installations.

Before transitioning to the wind industry, Ms. Wright designed, managed and installed steam turbine cogen generators around the world, as an engineer at a back-pressure steam turbine cogen packager and owner of district heating and cooling plants in North America and Europe. Her responsibilities there included project management, controls design, applications engineering, and field commissioning.
