I recently retired from my position as a School Psychologist. I worked in a variety of settings for over 30 years in both public and private settings. I have also worked in an urban clinic, providing therapy to adults and to children. Previous jobs have included a long stint as a local correspondent for a newspaper, where I wrote news features and interviewed interesting people in the area. In addition, I have provided editing services to graduate students who are working on their dissertations. Currently, I work as part of a team at Brain Balance, an educational treatment center that works on developing competence in both hemispheres of the brain.A year's sabbatical year provided an opportunity for me to study the Feurstein dynamic testing method in Michigan and I did the preliminary work to learn these procedures with children. I have also traveled extensively world wide, and enjoy connecting with people across this great big world!The major portion of my work life involved participating as a member of numerous Special Education teams to help determine eligibility status for children, from preschool to high school. I have also worked closely with our local Massachusetts Teacher Association, part of the time as the association's Grievance Chairperson, and I participated in several conferences at the state level, in Boston and Williamstown. I have conducted trainings for Community Partnerships for Children, as well as trainings for colleagues using varied materials from Headstart conferences, Lindamood Bell, dynamic assessemnt and playing the plates (which is very fun and relaxing!)I am a student of the Enneagram and find that it is an extraordinary help to me in the area of self-growth and understanding True Essence.Whenever possible I am gardening, biking or spending time with my family, friends and pets, listening, encouraging and enjoying life together.
