I'm passionate about communicating climate & environmental science & data in ways we can all understand, reaching audiences of all technical abilities & none. Climate change is part of our every day lives so I am committed to making it part of our every day news, building trusting relationships between scientists, journalists, policy and decision-makers and to the public.Being part of the UK space and climate presence at COP28 and COP26 as a science communicator, stand host, events organiser and, in 2021 and COP23 in 2017 as an events moderator in the Blue Zone and Green Zone were highlights of my career. My skill is in telling engaging, complex stories meaningfully, effectively, accurately and inclusively, from Earth Observation and climate change, compelling real-world case studies, back to my previous roles with a children's hospice service, national and local newspapers, and in my voluntary community activities. I get a particular kick out of supporting climate scientists, early career researchers and PhD students, building their confidence and skills to use communication to extend the impact of their work.I am motivated by being set new challenges and by drawing on my management background and broad skills set to find creative solutions as part of a forward-looking team. I enjoy overcoming obstacles and making a difference to communities.MY SKILLS SETS COVER:- Moderating international panel events, including COP26, COP23 and the European Climate Change & Adaptation Conferences in 2021 and 2019- Leading Knowledge Exchange, Communications and Engagement work packages for UK and international scientific projects - A proven background in strategic vision, planning, development and communications strategies at international, national and regional levels- Devising and delivering successful multi platform communications and engagement campaigns- Training climate scientists and early career researchers in media, engagement and communications
