I've always been passionate about creating community and hosting spaces where people can meet and thrive. Soon after joining the Omek platform as a community member, I proposed creating and hosting this space every Saturday to inspire each other to commit some weekly time to our passions and projects as well as sharing struggles, inspirations, and nurturing collaborations.

Consultancy services for any professional in the film + TV industry that wishes to impulse change in their organizations, companies, projects, services, and productions. I've developed a unique process for understanding how the human mind works, why stories are such a powerful tool for transformation, and what survival functions of our brain can lead to discrimination. Understanding the process of becoming more inclusive through this lens, is the easiest path to implementing changes in our lives and having an impact on the world around us.The approach will vary depending on the needs of the organization or production, but it usually comes in the following formats: 1:1 or team meetings with creators, screenwriters, and/or creative producers, team meetings with organizations, talks/presentations, workshops, participation in round tables, written reports, or tailored-made pdf guides.As a screenwriter and creative, I'd like to bring a greater sense of context and opportunity to the professionals I work with. Thinking about improving a project (or company) in terms of inclusivity, and embracing a broader range of cultures, experiences, and perspectives requires a great deal of creativity. Most of the time, that effort leads to original ideas that were never explored before or seen on screens.Over the years, I have participated in talks, panels, and events hosted by Dones Visuals, Docs Barcelona Festival, DAMA (CMO), Cinemigrante film festival, Médecin de Monde, Francesca Bonnemaison Women's Culture Center and the journalist's Association of Catalonia amongst others.And have led workshops for several organizations including the Sitges film festival, the Spanish Ministry of Culture, La Bonne's Feminist laboratory of documentary creation, Contested Desires, Nordic Factory, La Selva Coop, Metáfora Studio Arts, Tarragona University, and Ohio State University.

Dakar, Senegal

The first edition of the AWA writers' residency took place in Dakar (Senegal) from February 7th to 25th, 2022. With the organization, we selected ten local female university students interested in telling stories in the form of film or TV series but with no previous experience.I took part in the selection process, designed and taught the intensive educational program to introduce them to the artistic and technical skills of creating a story for the screen and writing a screenplay.AWA (African Women Action) is a non-profit organization founded by film producer Paméla Diop. With this program, AWA wants to introduce Senegalese women to the film industry and train the future filmmakers of the country.

Black Woman Disrupt The Web had selected 5 promising talents from around the world to write and direct their first Web Series. I was assign to mentor the candidate based in Colombia. I accompanied her from the mid-stages of screenwriting towards the final edit and she went into becoming the winning project of the five.It was a beautiful one-to-one teaching experience that really filled my heart.

Black Seed Films is an online and offline educational + ressources platform created in 2020 in response to the great amount of original stories existing in the minds of so many black and brown creators all over the world that don't have the training, opportunity or support to be able to take them to fruition. We aren't waiting for another 5 or 10 generations of black creators to go through film school or work their way up an industry that is riddled with obstacles to make their ideas come to life. We are training and supporting ourselves to develop the best projects so they can present them to industry leaders and platforms.During the months we dedicated to this educational project, I designed online trainings and a residential program with the co-founder Dami Sainz Edwards based in both of our experiences as working professionals in this industry and his previous experience as coordinator of the documentary department of the Habana Film School in Cuba. I selected and invited guest teachers, created the website, texts, communications and written content from the courses and also took care of transforming the live classes into an opportunity to also offer self-paced, on demand content.www.blackseedfilms.org
